Ingredients:
- 1 cup tomato ketchup
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions:
- Add the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce into the saucepan. Whisk in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne until the mixture is smooth and no clumps of spices remain.
- Place the saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring the mixture to a very gentle simmer—look for small bubbles breaking the surface, not a rolling boil. Stir occasionally for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat once the sauce coats the back of a spoon. Let the sauce cool for 10 minutes; the viscosity will increase as it cools, resulting in a thick, velvety glaze.
