Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) Ketchup
  • ½ cup (115g) Brown sugar, packed
  • ¼ cup (60ml) Apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Molasses
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp (2g) Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp (3g) Garlic powder
  • ½ tsp (3g) Onion powder
  • ¼ tsp (1.5g) Black pepper
  • ⅛ tsp (0.75g) Salt

Instructions:

  1. Combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and molasses in a small saucepan. Whisk over medium heat until the sugar crystals have completely dissolved and the mixture is a uniform, deep red color.
  2. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer until small bubbles break the surface.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. The sauce is finished when it has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon and has a rich, mahogany hue.
