Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) Ketchup
- ½ cup (115g) Brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup (60ml) Apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Molasses
- 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (2g) Smoked paprika
- 1 tsp (3g) Garlic powder
- ½ tsp (3g) Onion powder
- ¼ tsp (1.5g) Black pepper
- ⅛ tsp (0.75g) Salt
Instructions:
- Combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and molasses in a small saucepan. Whisk over medium heat until the sugar crystals have completely dissolved and the mixture is a uniform, deep red color.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer until small bubbles break the surface.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching. The sauce is finished when it has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon and has a rich, mahogany hue.
