Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract; stir until smooth.
  3. Fold in the yellow cake mix and sea salt using a spatula until a thick, cohesive dough forms.
  4. Fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
  5. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 18-22 minutes until edges are deep golden-brown and the center is set.
  6. Remove from oven and let the bars cool completely in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
