Ingredients:

  • 1 lb all-beef hot dogs, sliced into 1-inch rounds
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey-based BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

  1. Slice the hot dogs into 1-inch thick rounds.
  2. Place the rounds into a large resealable bag, add the yellow mustard, and toss until every piece is thinly coated.
  3. Add the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and black pepper to the bag. Shake vigorously until the bites are fully encrusted in the rub.
  4. Cook the bites using one of four methods: Oven (400°F for 15 minutes), Air Fryer (380°F for 10 minutes), Smoker (225°F for 1 hour, followed by 350°F for 15 minutes), or Grill (medium heat on a grill grate until charred), until edges are charred.
  5. While the bites cook, combine BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small pan over medium heat. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  6. Toss the cooked hot dog bites in the thickened glaze until evenly coated.
